Rick Moon: BIO
Rick started out playing at Moose Hall in
Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 14 in 1964 for 12 dollars! Here, in
2008… he still gets 12 dollars! His first band in 1968 was “Roc”
which let to “EHD” from 1970-1973. After that he was off to Atlanta,
Georgia to form the show band “Deep South”. They toured the US and
Canada playing clubs and opening for many national acts. From
1977-79, they settled in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Rick then brought “Deep South” to the Tampa Bay
area, playing at Steak and Ale, Club 19 in Clearwater, and Visions
in Tampa. In 1984, he formed “Duke” for two years. Finally in 1986,
Stormbringer came to pass, playing locally in the Tampa Bay area.
Rick has been part of numerous recording projects
over the years. He has recorded at Criteria Studio-Miami, Grand
River Motown Studio-Detroit, Morrisound Studios-Tampa, BJ
Studios-Orlando, and DB, Charico, and Labyrith Studios in the Tampa
Bay area.
